Though I've been entertaining the idea of popping over to Minneapolis for the re-union, I'm afraid it's unlikely this time around. Maybe at the 50th, when we'll all be walking with canes. Since high school, I've lived in a number of cities and towns: Perlis (Malaysia), Providence, briefly in Kyoto (Japan), Seattle, New York, Jakarta and Medan (Indonesia), Ithaca, and now Ann Arbor, Michigan. So right back in the midwest in the end, or at least for the time being. I taught at Cornell for a number of years, and now have been living in Ann Arbor and raising my now six-year-old son.

What do I recall about HHS? Orange lockers. The Teapot Dome Scandal. Our philosophy class. The international club. And of course being a part-time punk with some of y'all and going to shows over to the east a bit. The personal importance of the Minneapolis music scene (including the Replacements, Hüsker Dü, the Suburbs, and the Phones) has only grown over the years.
